Project Overview
This learning adventure will attempt to tackle one of mankind's greatest mysteries, the Egyptian Pyramids. Along with Stonehenge, Machu Picchu, the Great Wall of China, and others, the existence of this architectural masterpiece continues to inspire wonder and curiosity around the globe. Originally one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Great Pyramids of Giza are the oldest and only wonder to remain largely intact. This adventure will explore the origination and construction of this architectural phenomenon, why it was built, what lies inside its walls, and the historical context behind it. In addition to the wealth of information and knowledge this adventure will provide, students will also have the opportunity to learn about the Egyptian Pyramids first-hand through activities and games. Wonder no more! Follow me on our adventure to the banks of the Nile River to learn about one of the Ancient World's finest treasures.

Author Introduction
Who is guiding me on this adventure you may ask? My name is Alec Seebohm and I am a senior Finance and Risk Management/Insurance major at the University of Georgia, enrolled in EDIT 2000 this fall. Throughout my life, I've always been perplexed by the history of mankind and its ancient civilizations. They always seemed to be ahead of their time and left a wealth of knowledge for the rest of the world to digest and contemplate. For some reason, while daydreaming in class, I always seem to end up on the Wikipedia page of the Ancient Wonders of the World. With the Egyptian Pyramids being the oldest and only existing ancient wonder, I felt this would be an interesting topic for me and for others to explore through a learning adventure. Also, having traveled to Africa before but not Egypt, this is a destination I ultimately hope to visit in the future!
