Show What You Know!
So you've learned all this information about the Egyptian Pyramids, now let's prove it! Imagine you're the Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt five thousand years ago, before any massive monuments... How would you leave a lasting lasting on the world? Prepare for me the following items by the end of the next week, ready to present to the class:
1. Your design plans. Sketch a picture of what your Ancient Complex design looks like. How many pyramids would you include? Any other structures? Where and how would you build these monuments? Be prepared to back up your design with reasoning. For one of the pyramids, sketch the details of the innards of the structure. Don't be bashful! Be creative and remember none of us are artists here.
2. Build your own tomb! Create a poster displaying what you would want buried with you to take to the afterlife. Think about the things that are most important to you in the world. Take pictures or bring in the physical props to show to the class!
3. Your Epitaph. This is what will be inscribed on your tomb for the rest of time. What will the rest of the world remember this great pharaoh by when his/her tomb is excavated? Were these great monuments built in vain or out of accomplishment?
